Do you think this voting system could work..?
Where everybody gets a vote, but the votes have different weight depending on how informed the voter is. For instance, every voter is sent a form that asks them 10 relatively simple and random multiple choice questions about politics, government, etc, and is given a week or so to return it (like a census), and if you get no answers right your vote is worth 1, and if you get all of them right your vote is worth 11? I believe that giving power to the most informed, interested and best educated would act as a safeguard against the "stupidity of the masses" and as a consequence votes would lead to the wisest possible outcomes. And if people were not too clued up on politics but really want their vote to count they could read up on it easily enough!
