My computer was stolen from a computer repair store. How can I go about receiving reimbursement to replace it.?
The store owners insurance denied my claim (well the one the owner made actually). I am trying to recieve reimbursement to replace my computer, not what they think my computer is worth. The owner had no system in order to safeguard personal property while in his store which I found out when he allowed me to help him look for it. I am also trying to get reimbursement for programs (which I have receipts for), as well as a settlement for credit monitoring and invaluable loss of persoanl information. His ex-con technician was arrested and is now in custody for the theft. I had to provide a statement to her parole officer and everything!!! He tried to settle but it was nowhere near what he quoted the original claim for, and I was not satisfied with his suggestion, so I declined. I'm trying to be fair but not get taken advantage of here. What damages could I actually receive in this case?
